About the vendor

Serial restaurateur David Mackintosh already has Melbourne favourites such as Movida, Rosa’s Canteen, Pei Modern and Lee Ho Fook under his belt, but that wasn’t enough.  He launched SPQR, a sourdough, woodfire pizzeria in September 2016 with a goal to bring authentic, Neapolitan-style pizza to the masses with only a cooking time of 60 seconds. SPQR is an example of a venue focussing its energies on doing one thing really well, a departure from Mackintosh’s previous ventures.  The sourdough bases have been fermented overnight before meeting their fate in their custom-built woodfire oven.  Only 2 months old, and SPQR has received a glowing 14/20 from Fairfax’s Good Food, claiming their “margherita [is] to be reckoned with.”
