About the vendor

Shandong Mama is the result of a retired banker, Meiyan Wang, 59, and her daughter, Ying Hou, 33, who have come from Yantai, a fishing town off the Shandong Peninsula in North-East China where seafood is a specialty. In Melbourne, they produce some of the city’s best dumplings, noodles and buns from scratch, which have gained a popular cult following amongst the food industry, while winning awards for best Bang For Buck in publications such as Time Out Melbourne.   Their dumplings are fried into cannoli-like shapes with a flat, burnished bottom, from their thin, hand-made wrappers, which are an unmistakeable Shandong Mama signature.
