About the vendor
Steve Kimonides and Raphael Guthrie hung up their fine-dining aprons after finishing up at Melbourne’s Italian mainstay, Il Bacaro. What prompted this was a passion for Southern-style BBQ, a crazy idea of flying over a proper American smoker, and the commitment to actually learning the craft. What started as a pop-up here and there has flourished into a full-time festival and catering business (4 smokers deep) where you can find some of the best smoked beef short ribs, pulled pork burgers and beans this side of the hemisphere. Burn City Smokers will be coming off a one-month restaurant take-over in Mornington to bring the heat to Shimmerlands in 2017.
