It’s with great excitement that we welcome award-winning composer, pianist and electronic artist Luke Howard to the stage in a free show at Shimmerlands. Dividing his time between Europe and Australia, Howard has opened for the likes of Benjamin Clementine and Ben Frost, and performed with artists as diverse as Jeff Mills and Lior. An award-winning composer, his score to Where Do Lilacs Come From won Best Music for a Short Film at the 2014 APRA/AMCOS Screen Music Awards. His 2016 release Two Places sees him continue to the explore piano and electronic music that was found on his previous record, the Australian Music Prize long-listed release Sun, Cloud. In his very special Shimmerlands performance, Luke Howard will be joined by Daniel Farrugia on drums.

“What really moves me about contemporary classical music is when there’s heart-rending beauty… and this track completely knocked me sideways.” – BBC Radio Ulster
